Hey, Do you guys use your twin turbo Zd's for daily driving?
I am at the moment, but the original plan was to have a bunky to drive to work/shops everyday and keep the Z for weekend cruising and blats down the highway.
trouble is everytime i save up for a bunk car now...I'll be too tempted to do mods to the Z (the exact thing happened when I owned my v8 flacon).
Do you think Itll be ok to use as a daily for a while?I know i HATE looking at the k's clocking up on the odo!

    TTZ for daily driving.

Use while you can! The car was designed for daily driving.

Some day something may happen where you need to sell it, and you'll be kicking yourself as to why you didn't make the most it while you had it.

    My 2c worth anyway.....

    Happy Zedding.

    Weekend car here...
Drive a holden combo van (work car) during the week..
It makes the weekend so much better when your driveng home fri arvo and youve got the zed in the garage all polished up begging for you to give her the weekly highway run up the coast..( dunno weather she likes the salty sea breeze though haha i guess time will tell )makes me appreciate her and also gives me something to look forward to during the week... + i have to pay 4 fuel for the zed ... work pays for the vans fuel.

These cars are made for driving, and that's just what they'll do....one of these days this car is gonna... and i'd better not finish that sentence for fear of incriminating myself. ;)

my na is a daily driver and thats fine since i get 550+km to the tank... the problems ive heard for TT is that they go through fuel so fast its too expencive...

if you have a 2nd car go for it, very useful when its up on blocks getting worked on.... (gf come in handy at that point for lifts lol)

but like everyone says... its build for driving.... i hate driving other cars over my zed.... just not a fun...

    Mine was a daily driver

but the amount of miles i do i thought i had better get a bunky which is what i did. also its good being able to have it off the road for extended periods and still have a car to drive

TTZ = good daily (fuel comment above not exactly true)

ummmmmm TTZ's don't use all that much when you drive them right...

I have gotten over 700kms on a tank (ie 55 litre) and that wasn't straight highway conservative either... that was highway plus mountain passes (uphill aswell) I average 550ish for normal town stuff aswell so maybe you just use your right foot a little too freely ;)

My Z has been my daily for the past 1.5 years and its awesome, but again the kays issue has hit me and I find if you buy a shitter that will still be OK then you are more motivated to save for it...

I bought an AE86 recently and when I have it registered it will be a daily to save my poor odometer... but the Z will still be waiting for me on the weekend!

from what ppl have said previously in other threads, there seems to be a real difference of whether you get good fuel economy or not. i get between 350-400k's per tank (98ron fuel too!) which i think is pretty bad, but it doesn't stop me from driving it everyday. that's just what it costs to have a car like a Zed i suppose. some ppl seem to have the same deal, others seem to get good fuel economy.... comes down to the mods you have and how you drive it i guess....

All depends on the condition of the car and what problems it has. I get around 700KM to a tank highway driving and be sure I am taking it easy to get this but I am using the A/C too. Most common issue with Zeds is O2 sensors purely because of their age. A lot of people Australia wide have or know somebody with a laptop and DDL cable to see if the O2 sensors are working or any other fault for that matter. Another common problem which will cause bad fuel consumption is a failed Detonation Sensor but this can easily be bypassed to get your fuel consumption right.

Have a look at the A-Z index in the tech section and look up fuel consumption.

And yes, I use my Zed as a daily driver too, I just enjoy driving it so much I even make excuses to drive :zlove:

I have a bunky daily driver...

which gets me to work everyday.... it has nothing to do with fuel economy (zed is more economical than my bunky daily driver), but rather the amount of K's I do in a working week (about 600kms) and also the fact that I dont have to "worry" about the zed during the day.... it may sound stupid, but my carpark at work is an open air car park where no one really gives a shit about the cars... My bunky sigma has copped so many dents and scratches over the years, that I would be pained if it happened to the zed.... and it was even worse at my old work where the car was on the street all day...

    Cheers

I've driven my Zed as a daily driver since June 1999. I have a bunky that I use to go out to parties or the pub. I taxi, stumble or somehow get home and then ride my push bike the next morning to pick up the car.

It probably does use more petrol than a lot of other cars but I think that it's worth it.

I've also got a spare Zed for when the main one is having work done to it. The 2nd Zed is currently for sale if anyone is interested :)

    is that your 2 seater?

If thats your two seater in the small pic that looks bloody hot!I wanted a 2 seater but the one i was going for had a f@#$% head so I backed out.
since then its been a BIIIG debate and decision between the two bodystyles...I ended up picking the 2x2 because i thought it looked a little lower and wider and more sleek...but now im not too sure......

well the 2+2 is more common

so for uniqueness the 2 seater has the honours......i just like the practicality of the 2+2,ive had 3 or 4 people in my car about 8 or 9 times in the last few months, very handy if not very comfy for them:D   ....lol
