Re: Dont like it at all

i was to believe that all the cars competeing for that market was:

    300zx,
    mitsubishi GTO (3000gt),
    toyota supra,
    mazda rx7,
    low end porsches,
    and a couple of others

pretty much every car listed there, is 2 door, available in twin turbo, and exculding the rotors 6 cyl, with a sporty look, my main competeors IMO are the GTO vs. 300zx vs. supra.

funny thing is, gto weighs like 1.7t, supra is like 1.5t and 300zx is only like 1.4-1.5, yet ppl allways call 300zx fat, just cos silvias/180s are bulemic, and skylines suffer from anorexia.

Never heard of it.. must not be much competition..

scump you're forgetting the M3 and other european rivals.

Just remember the zed was around the 100K mark when they were first released. ;)

they can fall into that collum:thumbsup:

in my opinion, zed is a tie with the supra for preference, no love for the 3000gt as of yet. but if they were all the same price id prefer a 2jzgte supra :) if only you could get em tt for under 20k.

Agreed. Could hardly say it 'Competes' with a Zed.

    More likely the Maxima!

    I agree with gonzo's comments...

I bought my Z based on looks not power. I dont really care what car is made to "rival" with what.

I believe if you buy Z or another car based on word of mouth or by what power it is putting out ect and not on your passion for the engineering, design, quality and all that of the car, then your simply a "poser".

The most common thing that gets said to me by friends friends etc is "im saving for a GTR and i'll beat your zed" my response: "Good on ya, have a nice life"

    i thought about

pretty much every jap import available at some time before i bought my zed,and finally decided on it primarily because of looks.:zlove::LOL:
As a former new car salesman you find out about what the manufacturers do to compete with one another and undercut each other etc,but at the end of the day if your product isnt appealing to the customer it wont sell.
it all boils down to personal taste and we should be glad we have a variety to choose from!!

    cars

people are always quick to jump on the "more power is better" bandwagon when judging cars, however there's more to a car than a favourable power-to-weight ratio. Handling is a big factor, and personally, if i was given the option of an NA Zed or a 1/4 mile beast supra that handled like a tractor, i'd take the Zed. For me, a car has to be fun to drive, and speed is only one part of the equation.

The Aristo looks pretty powerful and probably is a very nice car, but i still think that the Zed would constitute a more entertaining and involving drive in the twisty bits.

Looks like an Avalon with a boil on its bum!

Not a big fan of the rear-end treatment.
Probably goes like stink off a dog-turd, but how does it handle.
    Is it FWD or RWD?
    Mmmmmmmmmmm! Comfy slushmobile!

was reading a book on the history

of the 300zx and at the time it was released, it seemed that ferrari was also in competition with it. keeping in mind the price zeds went for when released. ferrari's were still far more expensive, but at that time, a lot of people wanted the look without hurting the hip pocket.
    cheers.

    I like it!

You see a lot of Z owners showing deep regret at having to sell their Z's because of girlfriend, marriage, family....need a four door etc. This car could offer a great alternative to those poor souls. Use a bit of imagination, a nice dark coloured paint job good wheels and lower it a little. Handling could be improved, if you wanted to go that far, by adding a suspension upgrade(plenty of Z owners do!). There is no way I'm parting with my Z but I certainly know a few guys who may be interested in this car!

Re: was reading a book on the history

I was thinking more for the Mrs,

She doesn't like the "low, hard to get in and out of Zed" so she can have this one. That way, when my zed is in the shop, or i just need more space, you can still put the foot down and move rather they trying to pull into traffic, going, "Oh crap Oh crap, this is not the zed!"
