On the weekend just gone, Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th Townsville hosted Motormania 2005.. Featurnig show and shine, go to whoa and burnout comp.. The 300zx's of townsville attended, being placed up the front of the show..
there was more photos.. but for some reason i can only post 2 at a time.. heres some photos of the go to whoa. were we put the 300's up against some big v8s.. we did good, finishing in the top couple..(we beat all the new BA falcons and most of the bigger older v8s) my black 300 run a quick 5.8sec while lee's 300zx run a 5.3sec the winner of the go to whoa wasn't a blown v8.. it was a R33 GTR Skyline with a 4.1sec!!!
go to whoa go to whoa, is where you start on a white line(with your front wheels on the line) and when they call out go you have to accelate hard and then brake on the next white line(with your front wheels stopping on the line, if they don't you have to reverse back on top the line) the gtr managed to launch at like 8grand and hop to the next line.. stopping right where he had too.. the new falcons were unable to stop on the line due to the new braking system or some thing.. but our 300zx's loved it.. i must've slide side ways for a good distance before hitting the line.. the lines are about 60m appart.. cheers
well done and well reported, stretch, ..... sorry that none of we ..... southerners could get there to join you ... a fair trip from the gold coast .... why not try and post a bit earlier next year to see if we can get our act together for a trip north .. although the easter pilgrimage south will always, i suspect, be a prime focus ... black baz ... and looking bright ..
Do you not have ABS? ...or were you just using the handbrake? Good to see somewhere still using the traditional Go-to-Whoa.
