Came out of shops the other day to find nicely smashed up front bar on my zed  on further inspection found what ever resides behind front bar is also smashed. It just looks like black plastic or something. Panel beater says new front bar required plus stuff behind it but was unsure of cost as he didn't know what was in there. Anyone had this happen to them how much did it cost and what was behind front bar? As no note was left was hoping to say for the fix myself depending on $$$.
It is a 25th anniversary model and skirt is in tact so have option to keep stock or go for a uas bar what do u guys think?
Sorry about two questions in one thread!

    Shit man bad luck.

the black thing behind the front bar is called reo bar. They are not much of a protection anyway they are not made of metal or iron. I got rid of mine to fit the new bumper.

If you want you can post in wanted section for reo bar and front bar too I guess.

    Good luck

I ditched the reo bar with my new bumper. If your bumper gets hit the reo bars not good for much anyway, as you found out.

I would highly recommend keeping your reo bar...they do help in a front end accident. Nissan put them there for a reason. You can get a stock bar and put the stilen lip on it and get it painted.

You can even get the 2k bar from nissan for a reasonable price...i think not much difference from the uas bar...so there are quite a few options out there in regards to a front bar

    Goodluck.

agreed, reo bars do more than you think... plus if you have a crash and found without it then your insurance is void.

    still think they are pointless?
