I have just had a set of VG30DETT torque plates made up. Bore size is 90mm to allow oversized bores. They are made out of 42mm thick aluminum. They will need to be used with head studs and preferably head gaskets aswell. These are available for rental at $150 per month (30 days) plus post. A deposit of $300 will be required and then refunded when the plates are returned. I am more than happy to send these anywhere within Australia via e-go or you are welcome to pick them up from Hoppers Crossing in Melbourne. Save yourself a fortune by renting these instead of paying someone to make these from scratch just for one use. PM me if you are interested.
They cost a bit to manufacture, and took 6 hours of measuring to get them right. I just figure if anyone ever needs them, i will have a set or two available to anyone. I am getting a quote on Monday to have these mass produced and available to buy at close to cost price. Thanks for the kind words.
Great idea. Interested to see the final price. Planning to rebuild my spare zed engine in about a years time.
Once I have pricing to have these made up in bulk I can organise a group buy if there will be at least 5 people who want a pair of torque plates or 10 people who want single plates. It will cost a lil more to have single plates made up but is still an option, watch this space tomorrow. I won't be selling my original pair so they will be available for hire indefinitely.
If there are enough people interested in purchasing torque plates, I can have them made for $300 per piece which includes postage Australia wide. Minimum order would be 10 pieces so if anyone is interested, let me know and if we get enough takers ill organise it. Otherwise my set will always be avaliable to hire for $150 for the set.
My set will be machined very soon before they get any use. Any other ones i get made up will be checked and if need be they will also be machined included in the price.
Incase any workshops ect are interested I am more than happy to sell the CAD files so you can make up your own set of torque plates or take the file to a water jet cutter and have the torque plates made up. The design has been further refined and is accurate to within 0.000001mm. This may be an easy and more economical way to have more torque plates distributed amongst zedders. Not sure about price but am more than happy to take offers.
