With 7 Zeds on the track and another 4 in the pits, the Z32 fraternity was well represented at the UAS track day at Oran park south circuit yesterday. Top of the pack as usual was JP with the slotcar, just missing out on the elusive 47 sec lap he's chasing, with a 48.06, just playing second fiddle to a V8 supercar with a 47.99. I was lucky enough to come in next with a 51.98 (go the auto's) followed by Jetzed with a 52.12, with JT close by with a 52.92 and Ports with a slipping clutch 53.71. Couple of first timers on the track aquitted themselves quite well, Jeff Passfield with a 56.75 and Andrew {Zzz}57.22, i think they improved their times in a later session. Thanks to Oni,Zena,Aadoor, and Usher, for rolling up in support, think we out numbered the Skyline boys for a change. Wait for Geoff (Oni) to post a pic of the fastest pizza delivery van around.
sounds like it would have been a great day! hopefully i will be joining you guys at the next one after my water pump has been fixed!
Well done Wizard:thumbsup: Unfortunately no timing for the last session which would have been my best. results here
Top Day Perfect conditions and plenty of track time. I was chasing that VS V8 Super Car which ran 7th in it's last race helped me do a 47.99 on my in car transponder. As well as they announced it on the PA saying I did a 47.99 but not on the Nastsoft site? I will check it out. This was on new semi slicks and .4 of a second faster than my best ever on used slicks. Man of the match though was you Ron and your time which we rubbed into the GTR's, fancy being beaten by a grandfather with an auto 300ZX. Make me very proud of you Ron and I will look at you different from now on. Yes big zed presence at the track yesterday and think out numbered the GTR's for the first time. How the tides turn. Quite a few watching F1 and gearing up for their SAU track day later this month. There was some good vid footage which will put on our site and link over next few days in car also.
I'll have extra cheeeeese please JP Auto King Ron of the Bling 'twas a lovely day but a bit lean or cars. Cheers Geoff
Zeds rule Plenty of action at OP yesterday. Great conditions and plenty of track time as usual for a UAS day, weel done JP. Wizard with those sticky semis thundered around the track to show us all how it's done. I had a slight mishap with my oil cap and a mis-adsjusted clutch that saw me lose a second in a week. Unfortunately for one of the skyliners (Mona) a major engine breakage saw a stack of oil on the track. Watching slot car go head to head with the full spec V8 supercar was a buzz.
Dam missed it again due to work! Oh well changing jobs soon so will be able to get all of them from now on and I will have the Semi Slicks to! Nice work Ron! Cant wait to see the Slot Car fly again! MattB
well done Ron showing them how it's done! sounds like it was a great day at the track down there, wish we had more Zeds attending track days up here! also way to go JP, blisteringly fast time!!
Yep, had a ball Had six of the best laps iv'e had on a race track with a nose to tail dog fight with James (jetzed) in his blue Zed, with lots of slides, drifts, flicks, cutbacks etc, kept sticking my nose up the inside and he kept cutting it off, the boy sure can drive. Lots of fun, would love to have a video of it, it was great viewing from where i was sitting:thumbsup:.
Drifter Zed Yep Ron, I also had a bit of fun with Jetzed. Although I had him at my rear, he was on me real close and every time I checked my mirrors, I always got a view of the side of his car. He must have worked those tyres overtime
sounds like a real go, go day for all of you .. and a grandfather in an auto .. you cannot let that one rest, ron ..go the 'ol zedfarts ... well done ...:thumbsup::thumbsup:
PS the lap records page has been updated with the latest times http://www.pexcom.com/forum/httpdocs/LapRecords/index.htm
Doing it for The old farts Baz, got to keep these young ones on their toes. I'm afraid once your a petrol head, your always a petrol head:LOL: I look at the alternative of playing bowls and thinking that ain't going to cut it, Not much of a adrenalin rush there.
Only a couple of hours flying Franz, just need two zeds, one based in the east, one in the west. Then you can have the best of both worlds.
He's already got that Franz will be here 2 days after JP's next track day for over 1 week, so all we need to do it set up some track time
Haha, awesome. Sadly I've got committments in Tasmania the day before JP's next track day that I can't get out of, so heading to Wakefield the next day is unfortunately out of the question. Im not happy, but there is nothing I can do about it. We'll just have to find a skidpan somewhere Caz!
Bugger, Get a Red Eye Flight out of Tassie and you can still make it, would be good to see you running with the east coast guys. failing that theres plenty of no speed limit days at Wakefield through the week.
