Was doing some reading and was wondering if I would benifit from an ecu reset .My car was carrying no error codes but after doing the throttle body clean out the car is idling slightly higher than it was .Also as the car is an import and I am the first owner in Australia I was wondering if the ECU learning would also take in the difference of atmospheric conditions .Where I live and drive is very hot and dry as opposed to say other locations .Just one other quicky I was led to believe that the ECU could be reset by disconnecting the battery for a 30min period. But have since read that this will only clear fault codes and will not as such reset the ECU . Apart from the higher idle the car is running fine so I would not want to introduce any thing by attempting this if it is not necercary .

If the idle has changed since TB clean then the ECU was

compensating for the altered air flow... It will 'self-learn' the new conditions (clean TB's etc) within approx 100Kays (I think this #Km's is right?) or you can reset with consult or disconnect battery overnite.

Some say disconnect battery for 30 mins but I'd do it overnite

Does disconnecting the ecu reset self learn? I thought it only reset codes

and consult or similar was required to reset self learn.
