Hi all just wanted to make sure that this is ok...

I've got an Unorthodox Racing underdrive pulley and the timing mark does not line up with the mark on the timing belt sprocket, however it does seem to line up with one of the yellow timing marks on the timing belt itself... Is this right??

It should line up with the mark on the lower timing belt cover, not the belt. So at TDC the mark on the UDP should match the '0' on the timing belt cover.

    Cheers Chrispy!

    Thanks mate,

Just tested that and it works! lines up at TDC.

Do you mean " is the mark on the correct position on the pulley?" I believe, and someone will correct me if I'm wrong, the timing mark, on the outer edge of the pulley, is in line with the keyway. I seem to remember posts about a/market pulleys having the mark in the wrong place, which would make it pretty hard to set-up anything during a re-build:confused::cool:

Some of the cheap dodgy pullies had the mark in the wrong spot. I've never heard of the Unorthodox Racing UDP's having any problem. Mine was spot on.

Just letting you know that the mark on the pulley edge is not inline with the keyway, but that sould still be right.

Chrispy, have you got a harmonic balancer laying around somewhere? the timing mark is pretty important to setting the internals up during a re-build:eek:
