    Server Forum Test Bed

    Hi All

I have taken the opportunity to provide an installation of the 3 main contenders on a server that I have hosted locally. I have not been asked to do this by anyone but I think it would be a good oportunity for everyone to see what each is like. Most wont care but for the technically savvy I am happy to tweak any of the 3 systems to try and provide the features that everyone is looking for.

I have made a quick and dirty index page that people can access to see the latest versions of vBulletin, Invision Powerboard and phpBB.

Please register and make an appropritae request in the forum discussion area of each board for changes..

Please dont misuse them Im taking the time to provide a meanigful service and would hope my efforts are reciprocated.

    Cheers

    Stu

PS I am not commiting to any long term management at this stage

    Preview...

Just took me 10 mins to make this from scratch, including registering a new account.
And didn't cost me a cent. Like i said there is some advertising ontop but this can be removed for $5- per 30,000 clicks.
Plus i put the front page portal up just to get a feel for it, but it can be disabled so that it opens straight into the forum like present

    90TTZ Back From The Dead

One of my favourite features about this forum software

is the mouse over preview stays on indefinitely. The others disappear after a short time. I asked if this could be changed on the oz300 site which uses phpbb and they could not see how it can be changed.

I think using something proven like what nissansilvia use is a good way to

go, it has only ever been down once from what I can remember and although it can be slow at times, there is many more posts on that site than what there are on here. I think using what they use would be a good option.

I am always happy to pay for some of this if you guys want me to.
