Just go to a custom grind. Low duration high lift.

Aren't these the most aggressive. Sorry I have no idea about the cams I just see the supra guys running like 280?

Haha anyone got a link to camshafts with turbos I can study?

compared to say JWT R5 cams (which i have) their duration is a few extra degrees (276 compared to 272) and lift up by 1mm (11mm compared to 9.78mm)

so yes, they're quite agressive, my car still idles fine, has a bit of a bark on free rev.. you will need a whacking great turbo to take advantage of cams that size, my JWT R5s are too big for my GT28R's as their peak torque (powerband) is somewhere around 6000rpm where my turbos peak around 4600rpm, giving two clearly defined torque peaks in my torque curve

if you get your cams, head flow and turbos matched well you can get some really exciting peak torque numbers

solid lifters technically need more maintenance as they need to be shimmed regularly, which means removing the cams and adjusting sized of shims to maintain lash spec.. but due to much lower mass they can be revved a lot higher (if the rest of your engine is up for it)

these cams, due to the amount of overlap will make whatever turbo you have spool later resulting in extra lag

<edit: i almost went these cams some years ago, only backing down just prior to purchase as my car was going to mainly be street driven and i downsized my cam and turbo package, they're perfect for drag racing by the way.. but get massive turbos to go with>

I found the JUN hyraulic cams that are 272 with 9.5mm lift and that is the most aggresive. Am i missing something when comparing cams

these JWT race have 4 degrees more duration and 1.5mm more lift?

question is what power band are you after ?

mid range, top end ,best all round power .

its not a case of bigger is better .

best all round cam duration for the VG is 264 .
    options are

    jun 264/9.5 hydraulic

    tomei 260/10.25 solid .

    (you make power to 7500rpm)

more top end sacrificing low end/midrange you use 270 -272 (which in IMO takes away from the VG is designed for)
