hey evryone. looking at maybe putting a thermo fan into my 1990 NA 300zx, it already has an upgraded PZP radiator. this is a link to the thermo fan i found; http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?...category_id=14&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7 just wondering if anyone have dealt with thius one before and if its worth it.
To be honest it looks no different then what you can buy here in aus. Try giving cooldrive and or highgate a call and see what pricing they can give you. The adjustable thermo switch can also be bought from them. The switch housing can be bought from auto stores or eBay real cheap. Main discussion point about thermo fans is that they have adequate flow, are sized correctly, and have appropriate shrouding. Some say they are good for moving speeds but not awesome for sitting in traffic. This comes down to size, flow and shrouding again. Overall the decision is yours. But with a good radiator, good working fan clutch and a good condition fan, Oem is perfect for its intended usage. The amount of hp you're saving the engine by dropping the Oem and using thermos is a debatable fact also. Choice is yours though.
No it's not worth it. Things wrong with that kit *14" fan is too small and will cover SFA of your wide(compared to TT) radiator surface *no fan shroud *single thermo fan will never flow as much as the clutch fan If you have an "upgraded" thicker chinese radiator you need as much air as you can get, not less.
