had a bit of a bingle this morning, this guy pulled straight across a double lane highway into my double lanes , which i was on the left side lane and t-boned me, i'm not a happy camper at the moment
Ouch! Very sad to see mate. looks like quite a bit of damage, including steering/suspension components. Best of luck getting it back on the road nice and cheaply.
the other guys insurance will be paying for it, i spoke to the panel shop and they want me to source the parts for them, i told them i want as good or better than what is being replaced and they said fine, hopefully it will all work out nicely because the guys doing the panel and paint were the ones i spoke to0 recently about getting the car fitted with a new bodykit and painted
yep, the fact that he had a mobile to his ear blocking his vision and turning across the road with one hand wouldn't have had any effect at all , i had my headlights on as well
my car isn't i was waiting till i finished it before getting it insured, but he is full covered, company car, he was in the wrong and will probably be fined by the cops no one was hurt, dont worry i'm pissed off about it, that car was completely straight, but as i said no one was hurt, and it is only a car after all
i always thought it looked like mad max's car at the start of the movie, now it looks like the car at the end of the movie ,not good to hear
Bad luck, but at the end, the car should be ready fo the next mad max movie. You always seem to lose out somewhere though, even if insurance pays the lot. Usually something not quite right
bad luck mate.. i feel for ya. hopefully she will be restored 2 her previous glory. are u ok matey.. ?
one thing i''l say Simmo, is that the Z is a very tough car, the impact more or less felt like the impact you get with dodgem cars at the show, and i was extremely suprised at the lack of damage to the Z
ah crap! sorry to hear about your bad luck Shane. won't be any moolah out of your pocket for the repairs though so thats a relief.
Check yer chassis rails Check for cracks or bulges. Also check for inner skirt ripping off the chassis rail. Do your doors both close like before, gaps front and back still as before? Did he hit your front wheel? If so you could be in for some heavy damage work there. A front wheel hit from the side might transfer into the member under the engine between the front rails and could be a laborious fix. Sorry to worry u but for a performance car and he is paying youll wanna get it all done 100%
yeah, don't worry, i'll make sure it's a 100% fix job, both doors still work and the gaps are uniform as before the crash, drivers guard is stuffed, headlight still looks to be in the right position, front wheel is totalled, new set of smicko rims coming as the blitz ones can't be replaced, not sure behind the wheel yet, i will go down to Albany during the week when the panel shop gets it all apart and inspect it, don't worry, as long as the chassis rails are not bent the car will be back better than ever, if the insurance reckons it is too much to fix and they right it off i will buy another Z and buy my baby back, will just meant hundreds of hours of work swapping all the goodies over, i would prefer to get the predator fixed, i have become quite attached to the car oh and thanks everyone, it really sucks when something like this happens but when you get support from what are obviously great people it makes it a lot easier to deal with :zlove:
well good luck to you. Im in a similar position now having slid into a railing. Slow impact just a guard and bar replace with slight body tweak and maybe radiator support. My trouble is ive found prev owners chassis rail damage . Looks like the car has had a nose cut and shut prior to me too.
