Testing if Ignition circuit in ECU is faulty

    as a result of a PTU upgrade. There have been a few help threads lately and I've suggested bridging the ignition relay as a possible diagnosis of a dead ECU. Have had several requests for more info on this so here's a diagram which explains what to do. It needs to be stressed that leaving the wire in the ign relay female terminals provides direct 12V to the ignition circuit even when the key is removed (I believe). This will overheat/damage the ign circuit eventually which could cause damage/fire. it will also flatten the battery. It is to be considered as a short term diagnostic method only. It doesn't replace a dead ECU...

    Anyway, warnings done, heres the method. I've used this several times and it works well.
