Looks like an OK idea as you don't have to keep looking at your gauges to know if there is a heating problem. Probably wires up the same way as a temp gauge too. I reckon it would work with a Zed.

I've seen these, but I wonder how accurat they are, because from what I can see they just bolt onto the block somewhere rather than going into the cooling system? Or am I missing something here

parker Been around for a bit

    yeah mine does

It always sits at half. But when I had a thermo in it and it wasn't cooling properly it slowly crept up and I caught it before it cooked. Needless to say the stock fan has lived in there ever since

lol i know it will creep up, ive had it happen...problem is it doesnt raise proportionately to temperature. Its either on 'Tolerable' or moving towards 'Meltdown'

Monitoring your cooling system is one thing, monitoring the actual temperature of the block is (IMO) just as accurate, if not more valid.

Just got in touch with Mark Jessop from Engine Watchdog regarding the TM2 temperature warning devices.

As a club, we are able to get additional discounts on this product. Advertised on ebay at $149, call in and mention Jamie from Aus300zx club and receive a special price of $129 delivered. Telephone number: (07) 32776770.

This offer is limited to any caller who places an order in the next 30 days.

With Summer here and many more warm days to come, I know i'll be investing in one.

Will also place this offer in the "For Sale By Business" section.

**By no means am I receiving any type of renumeration for promoting this product. I just think it's a great product at a great price. Not to mention, it may save your Z**

    Cheers!

Absolutely, the worst gauge in terms of accuracy on a production

vehicle I reckon. I have tested it's accuracy and when the temperature on datascan is 104°C the gauge is still 1/2 way. LOL.

KZD's TWD is the way to go especially as a stand alone unit.

datascan / ecutalk are brilliant if you have a car PC installed and you want to check/monitor the actual temperature accuratly if the TWD goes off or at any time really.

I have one installed ( I bought off Ugame) and set for Max of 90 to cope with QLD summer (well at least last year) and it works great.

Was set lower and went off once exceeded ..

highly recommend something of this nature in case you loose coolant and don't notice.

Rob )Member K-zed) was selling these for around $70ish delivered a while back. Simple LED that triggered at around 95deg. Hit him up for another batch if he's interested.

These have been protecting zeds for years.

    This;
The oem temp gauge is not linear in it's display characteristics. It will read normal for temps varying from 135*F to 214*F. Anything above or below that will see the needle move in that direction. In the case of warmer, you only have to go a few degress past 214*F for the condensor fan to kick in which means you may be headed for a meltdown soon. That's unless you have the AC turned on. In which case the condensor fan will kick in each time the AC is selected.

I rarely drive my Z without this being on and displaying 6 gauges similar to this on my Ipaq H4150.

Agreed. The ideal would be to have an Oil Temp gauge as well. I find I can get a pretty accurate indication of how hot the block is by comparing my ECUTalk water temp to the ECUTalk Fuel Temp. The closer the Fuel Temp got to the water temp seemed to be a good rule of thumb for me. I found that extremely usefull driving through Texas last year.
