QLD Tech Day and Cruise Townsville, 6th September.

In anticipation of getting my license back following a positive MRI of my heart, am going to have a tech day at my place, Saturday 30th August. Date change, 6th September!

This will be the third annual event and hoping to be a bit of a celebration in one. Usually consists of the usual gas bagging, consuming, peaking, drooling, tinkering and modding although has had history of getting so involved duration would exceed 12 hours

Out of towners (Cairns to Mackay and Benny_C) most welcome. Have quite a lot of gear to do just about anything from ECU diagnostics to engine rebuilds but unless you can do the later in under a day we will refrain from that

BBQ lunch will be on (I'll supply the BBQ and gas ), all participants are encouraged to bring esky and camp chair.

That sounds like a great event to celebrate Karl, I reckon you will sail through the MRI. (I guess you have already done the stress testing on the treadmill)
What's your thoughts on the EGR leak I have?. Would taking the plenum off and replacing the EGR be too much for a day job? I suppose the best thing is that I have already taken it off before and replaced all the rubber hoses so there are no surprises in store in that department.
I should be able to make it down this time, the weather is perfect and it isn't too hot when working on our cars.

il be there in my project, with my nearly 0 knowledge of cars, very keen to learn, get lots of advice, and fiddle with engines!, no one can laugh at my front bar

 

I might be able to coax a trip out of work to go and see a job I have up there... We'll see

Well in that case, if we get 2 or more from south of Mackay might have to make it a Tech Day/Big Night out

 

Bugger I'll be in Townsville the weekend before - but might have to return

Well if i hadn't already paid in advance for my Skid-pan day at Gold Coast on the day after, I might have just attended this tech day/night/piss-up/mullet-fest.

You can't have a tech day AND a cruise on the same day, not enough time. The last Townsville tech day went for 15 hours or something crazy...
