    5K1TZX Its all never ending....

Hey fellow Tassie zedders!. My mate recently made a phone call to the caretaker at Basketville Raceway. The track is now open 7 days a week!! 9am till 5pm.

To join the club is $65 and each time you use the track is $55.

Call ATLEAST 2 days in advanced to make a booking.

Whos interested for a Basketville trackday/BBQ in December?

I'll have my new coilovers in have selected some stiff spring rates directed for the track and want to do some indepth trial and error testing.

Anyone who wants a good chance to setup their zed, or just to have some good safe fun should all post here and pop up their suggested dates.

    Any questions just ask.

    Cheers, Ben :zlove:

Basketville is a little too bumpy for me...

I'd be happy to come along to a Basketville track day and eat food, and take some snap/get some video clips :p

My Z is better suited to Symmons Plains.

If thats the case jono... come to symmons tomorrow!! These excuses from everyone saying their cars are not ready are wearing thin :bash: My car is far from perfect but its great to just have a go and have some fun with it :) Come on everyone!... Ben and Ben and Poppa etc! entry is only $85 tomorrow and track is open till 8pm! scrut at 9am.

Oh and Jono... what makes you say basker is rough?? have you driven on it? i mean it can't be that rough considering it is used by the national drift series etc. I cant wait to try baskerville, i think it will be more fun to drive than symmons... cant wait to find out, so i'll be there... whatever the date is ben ;)

BASKERVILLE is a fairly good track but!!!

Baskerville is a good track it is just very tight and there are a few bumpy sections of the track it doesnt really suit big cars but it is still fun. It is rated as one of the best short circuit track in Australia. I will be in but I am not sure if I will be racing there we will have to see. The only real bad thing about BASKERVILLE is the road you have to drive on to get to to the track it isnt sealed, but my zed didnt complain much heheh My best lap was 1.13.
    cheers Ben:zlove:

    Jono mate did you forget?

that you got height adj coilovers lol? oh and you can happen to make them stiffer aswell  if your worried about scraping your bar etc, and its not bouncy or rough! A good line will skip them all basically and the few bumps are on low speed corners not the high speed sweepers! My best was 1:09 with normal street tyres.

My mates R31 cracks the 1:04...its a QUICK car...only 190kw at the wheels with rb20...but has over 10 grand in suspension mods including Nismo R spec coilovers which was tuned to run on R comp tyres.

I'll talk with him, his name is Dan, in 2 weeks when I get my licence back ;) I'll get more serious with dates...check this post roughly then.

At least there is enough corners to keep it interesting....symmonds gets a bit boring doing lap after lap. Basketville is all about consistancy and hitting those apex's and race lines. Its too easy to do a better time than others at symmonds all you need is more power than you competitors for the back straight. Think of it this way...us zedders would whoop a race Mini cooper on symmonds but its a totally different story at the Ville', thats what I like about it.

I knew it didn't look right when I wrote it!

But it was how Ben spelt it in the original thread ;)

Excuses for not going to the track??? Odin, I know for a FACT if you Z was still auto you would not be as keen. Also, I'm a lot further away from Symmons Plains than you... Also before hitting the track, I'd like to get the car ready first (pads, fluids, etc...)
Your Z is no longer your daily, if that were the case for me as well, it would be a lot easier.

Ok, Sorry, didn't meen to have a go at u particularly Jono. Not that it really matters what other people want to do with their cars. Just seems that allot of people dont want to hit the track for the fear of not being the best or something like that as they never think their car is "ready". But anyway enough of that, it's all good fun, not a big deal would just like to share the track with some fellow 300's once in a while :)
And yes that is a fair call about the Auto and daily driver thing jono, i imagine i would be less keen in that situation too.
About Baskerville, i was talking to people about it on saturday and yes apparently it is a tad rough in places and probably better suited to small cars, but it is still a good track.
So yeh i'd still like to try it, think it would be fun, but in the end i think Symmons is better suited for us.
BTW Ben, i have to say i disagree with your comments about Symmons being "boring"
I have done 3 full days on Symmons now and i am still finding better lines to drive and later breaking points etc etc. I would say it is far from boring, it is quite a challenging track when it comes down to taking tenths of a second off or keeping some consistency. eg. without changing much on my car from my first day the best i could manage was a 1:13 second day a 1:08.15 on saturday a 1:06.02 :D
To better my times now i really believe the most important upgrades for me are brakes and handling, there is plenty of power.
