I haven't heard of one that big used on a VG30DETT as a single. Trouble is finding somewhere to put it. About the only place is in front of the motor with the rad on a angle. I've seen slightly smaller singles in place of the air con, but I don't think a T51 would fit there...
The radiator is already on an angle in the Z31 which makes fitting turbos the size of your head really easy. I wouldn't imagine it would be too difficult to modify the DETT setup to do the same. Reaching full boost by 4,000rpms but a usable powerband up to 8,000rpm (if you build it right) would make for one really wild ride. The "lag" will be the least of your concerns when you hit 40psi+ and 700rwhp at the treads!
OMG is that yours? Looks amazing!! got more pics you can post up, and specs/info on it? Very professional job you've done there. :zlove:

A work of art! Awesome work indeed. you would have to be very proud of that work. Congrads on a beautiful machine. :zlove:
it was originally single turbo engine cema engine but decided to go twin so i just used what i had rather than buy new engine kinda wish i used z32 head as the cema parts are hard to get!!!
It's said that the early JDM VG30DET is stronger than the later versions used in the Z32. From a very reliable source aswell, (the guys who built Cesar Febus's 7 second Z31). I cant remember the specific examples given as to why, but that was their weapon of choice and there was a good reason behind it.
the crank in the cema vg30 is far stronger than the z32 crank from what i have been told with forgies and rods u have a strong as hell engine.
Yeah, there's a few other small differences that dont come to mind right now aswell I think. It was used in alot of JDM sedans like the Gloria, Leopard and of course the 300ZR (Z31) where the DOHC VG made it's debut in the Z!
Great workmanship and symmetry! Twin T51R would flow at least 1000HP at the rear wheels! Have you got any more pics of the build process? Keen to see how it all went together! You would have spent at least 20k on the engine alone if you got a workshop to do the work!
