What camera do you have?? and do you use a tripod??? I tried taking some cool pics of the fireworks here, but with the slow shutter speed required to take good pics at night I just get too many blurry pics from camera shake. ie, I dont have a tripod. Also, what ISO setting do you use?? Your pics seem to have very little digital noise. Top stuff..CheersJEDI-77
Camera.. that is a secret!!....... .. A Canon 10D digital SLR with 28-135IS lens and yes I used a tripod... never leave home without it!! Seriously.. spend zillions on the fanciest camers and equipment.. the $100-$300 you spend on a decent tripod is THE single best photographic investment you will make.
Tripods... ...can be a bugger to carry around all the time. Much bulkier then a camera. For less the $10 these are great. Nice pics, Chris... very professional indeed.Egg[image]http://www.mustangmods.com/data/1552/tri.jpg [/image][image]http://www.mustangmods.com/data/1552/tri1.jpg [/image]
you should of stayed till midnight>> the harbour bridge looked unbelieveable, i never get sick of seeing the harbour bridge go off.
I did...But... I ran out of memory about 3 minutes before the end and the view was obstructed anyway!! Have been back for the lightshow on the bridge tonight so stay tuned....
Thanks... changes made.. Photobase does not allow for smaller text.. but you are right looks better without thumbnail titles... maybe when I give the files proper titles!!Thanks for the positive feedback
I agree.... Firstly thanks for the compliments.. Tripods, yes they can be a hassle.. but a trip to Daintree Rainforest in June taught me the value... Depends what I am shooting of course!
Went out and bought one today Resting my camera on boxes/books while taking photos wasn't really working, so I walked into the city during lunch today and bought myself a tripod. :YD I had planed to buy one for a while so you guys are only partly to blame for my purchase Note: I'm usually not that easily influenced though. :+)One thing this forum is really good at is getting me to spend more money than I otherwise would. 8( It's all in the name of fun ^D^
You'll find that... with your S50 (JEDI-77) that anything above an ISO of 200 has quite a lot of noise. At night time you can get some nice shots if you use a tripod and an ISO of 100 or 50 (for the Canon S series).I've got a Canon 10D digital SLR and the noise is almost undetectable until over an ISO of 800 (and it can go up to 3200!).Hope you're having fun with the new camera. Michael
