The air/fuel ratio gauge interests me, but it doesn't return a value, just a lean/stoich/rich position. My last dyno run was aborted due to an air/fuel ratio of 13.5 - I was advised it should be more like 12.5. Is there any such thing as an a/f gauge that reports numeric ratios? Where would 12.5 sit on the SW gauge - close to the lean end of stoichometric???

 

You'd need a wideband for that Mike. These ones only use the stock O2 sensor and can only tell if the AFR is either side of a certain point.

 

Slightly off topic.

But why is the usual gauge size 52mm? Somebody in years gone by used to make 44mm units, but I can't remember who. They were just as easy to read as the 52s, but they looked soooo much better and were sooo much easier to place around the dash - especially in DIN sized openings. Very classy indeed.

As for 60mm units, well if your eyesight is that bad you need a 60mm gauge, I suggest you give your licence back :biggrin: :biggrin:
