Hey guys, is there a a good battery clamp I can buy that isnt such a PITA to install? I just bought my self a new battery and because its 650cca its freakin huge and it makes it that much harder to put the damn bracket on.

Take it back and buy the right size battery!

Stock zed battery is about as tall as they come, are you sure it's sitting in the tray correctly? Is there a spacer of some kind in there from a previous battery?

Is that real advice? Would be a good way to get a yellow sticker.

Nah its not taller its same as the other one, just wider and makes it a little harder to hook the rod on the battery tray hole thingy. All good, just a pita. Might buy one of those battery boxes one day because I dont want to be stuffing around when I need to remove the battery again.

Its a Supercharge MF80D26R. They wanted $188 for it, asked if they would give it to me for $150 and ended up paying $160 :)

yes, i'm genuinely recommending he holds a 15 kg block in place with some zip ties.

Did you take the windscreen cowl off? I had to take mine out not long ago and it's a lot easier putting even a normal battery back in with the cowl off.

Behind the battery there is a little white hook, this is there to clip the battery clamp rod to before you put the battery in place. It holds the rod from falling out while you put the clamp on.

based on a certain member's experiences at WSID, cable ties constitute sufficient 'battery restraint' on the drag strip.
...Even if the battery is restrained to a solid point in the engine bay (ie fuel filter hard lines and the negative battery wire firewall mounting point  )

No.. it itsn't me. But it cracks me up every time I remember this.
