Straight through exhaust

Is there any downside to not running a X or H pipe?

 

just more noise really, not much performance benefit due to the firing order on the v6.

 

Expect the system to drone above speeds of about 90kph

 

Mine doesn't drone.... No X/H pipe, Apexi cat back.

 

mine doesnt drone either 2.5" all the way no X or H pipe and soon to be even louder...

 

Mine drones, actually i think its the cabin resonating. Its alot better with the top off.

 

When i only had extractors and aftermarket mufflers on my na, i had a huge terrible drone. I got a cat forward system with a center muffler and rear mufflers (magnaflow) and i have no drone now. I am a much happier person now The old system was terrible.

If the note is the only potential downside I may risk it.

I thought i read somewhere you can isolate which turbo is burning oil with a straight through setup, anything else it may be helpful with?

 

yea AFR's when you hit the dyno.
