I noticed this morning that my passenger side steering rack boot is split, so I want to replace both sides asap. I will need to do it this week anyway for my rego check. Is this an easy job? Do I need the OEM replacement boots from Nissan, or can I just get a standard one from Repco or something?

Cheers, and sorry if this is a repost. I searched and couldn't find a similar thread. Thanks :D

Oh excellent! Thanks Caz, I'll take a set of 2 please! :) Are you around this week?

Ok that sorts out the parts, can anyone else tell me if this is an easy job? What is the procedure?

    Thanks :D

Undo both tie end rods by adjustable spanner. Count the theads before undo both sides otherwise prepare for wheel alignment.
Slide in the new boots. Screw in the tie end rods. Malke sure to count the thread again. Use cable tie to stop sliding the boots.

    Hope this helps.

pretty simple really, undo the tie rod ends, take old boot off, slip new one on.

just make sure you mark where the tie rod end is at with a white paint marker or something before taking it off else when you put it back on the steering is going to be out of alignment.

Ok great, thanks guys, that sounds simple enough! :D

Thanks Caz, is it ok if I swing by after work this afternoon? I could get there at 6pm? Otherwise, sometime tomorrow in the day?
