it's another one of those "sterring issues" guys, i've done a search and i'm about to go off and check a couple of things:
    - ps belt
    - ps fluid
    - vehicle speed sensor

issue is that steering becomes heavy at times and it is random. when it's back to normal it's ok to drive and steer and pass through corners. however when the heaviness comes in and when i try and steer, once im straightening up it doesn't seem to want to, as if it wants to keep that same turning circle. i've had my car for nearly half a year i think and the first occurance of this was today on the way to work. drove as safely as possible today on my way back home

although from what i've been reading the speed issue with steering usually comes with the erratic speedo issue, mine does not.

appreciate any help, going to look at some things now

    Steering...>>

I would check the ps belt first. I recall a new belt was fitted some months ago and it is likely that it has slightly stretched with use.

    Cheers

    Agree with John Garvin >>>

Not sure about Andrews resonse, might be summat else he's thinking of

Being an intermittent problem, if belt/fluids ok, check PS solenoid connectors are clean.

thanks fellas. i've already just checked the belts, they seem pretty tight to me.

just a note the hicas solenoid valve has always been disconnected on my car.

i've decided to take a concentrated effort tomorrow after work with this one so decided to leave it. i guess no parking $$ tomorrow.

    Same prob. here.

But I have never took it as a serious issue.
Don`t know the exact reason for this but will be interested in your finding.
