hey guys I need to buy a starter motor for my zed, I've found one on ebay but it says suited for automatic transmission. can any one confirm that starter motors for vg30's need to be either auto / manual?
Bob, before I got the car someone stripped one of the starter motor bolts. I found it after about 3 years with one bolt, couldn't believe it still worked. So just make sure you have a heap of lock tight to hold those bolts in when you replace it. It's ok because they are mostly in shear not tension so don't really require a lot of tightening.
wow thats crazy , atm its screwed in with loctite and a slightly larger bolt, it should hold till i can afford to re-tap it .
I prob should have fixed it properly but I guess I was more concerned at the time that there was a bolt missing. Fixed it and fogot till now
