started a post in the old forum about finding engine NO need it agian!! went overseas

    i was formerly known as 300zxfairlady________ i forgot and lost the details

    i went overseas and left the Z all of a sudden in the workshop and the idiot mechanic couldnt find the engine no :mad: and i faxed him the instructions with the firewall bolt and move the wiring loom and still couldnt find it and now i want to get the Z out of the workshop ASAP coz im going again in a few days and i lost the post of where to find the engine no i guess he will have to open the manifold and rocker covers can i get some info ASAP i want to get the car out of the place who knows what they do with my Zzlove its been there for about a month help please i cant find the previous post

    You need a new mechanic ...

    Engine no. is on rear of block, drivers side - down near where heater hoses exit firewall.

    Here's the pic I posted last time

    Remove the screw identified by the red arrow. It secures the wiring harness to the firewall. The green arrow indicates where the engine no. is. Use a screwdriver to move th harness out of the way. Use some carby cleaner on a piece of cloth taped to the end of some dowel to clean the engine no.

    simple tip is to use a mirror on one of those flexible wands

    thats wht the guys at dept of transport used when they checked my engine number

    thanks will get that done tommorow

    hopefully if i get time and then PROJECT Z finished and finally registered

    i have to deal with those idiotic mechanics coz my car has a few defects LOW BODYKIT no indicators YET gotta install them tommorow
