Calm down old man, you could almost be my grand father:p

I am just a lost gazzard. Learning where to get cheap rods for your hot holden 6 was part of the initiation process.

well if i can put a sr into a mk1 escort panel van and get the front wheel off the ground surely someone can put one in a zed and make it preform the only con about sr's is they dont like over revving without rocker stoppers. Apart from that they are a killer motor. ive got some more pics somewhere that ill put up another day.

If I can draw a parallel/comparision between the power of the SR and the VG

have a look at these power and torque figures of the Old 1900 Opel engine in the Torana and the the 3300 cc engine.

The torque and power where approx larger by about 1/3 comparing the two. ( same as the SR and the VG)

The 1900cc engine was bloody UNDRIVABLE, horrible discusting car. The 3300cc was pretty bloody horrible as well but for the standards of the day very acceptable.

Its the same sort of comparision between the SR and the VG. Barely acceptable compared to very acceptable. Based solely of torque and power.

We are not talking Lambo V8 compared to Lambo V12. I am sure an engine transplant between Lambos with these would still leave a good car.

have you driven a silvia , i think you will be very disappointed . ive had a few there not a bad car there cheap to run and fun but they are not anything on a zed in any performance aspect

lol actually i just realised , this would be like going and buying a hsv club sport pulling the v8 out and fitting a normal 6 cylinder to increase performance .

I got rid of that thing when I built the Navara.

I pulled that bellowing FJ out of the Ford Econovan I used to have! That thing sure surprised a few riceboys I can assure you!
Surprised me quite a few times when the arsehole went sideways on me when I got careless!

    +1

Havent owned any but driven a few with stock motor+turbo and i was unimpressed. Sure they get moving once youre revving 3k+ on boost, but even then they just dont punch like the zed from 2k-7k. Same goes for r32/33 the only other nissan to match it are the rb26 GTRs.

On stock motor+turbo, performance-wise, sr powered cars have nothing on the zed imo except maybe mid-corner speed. Its a bit like the bmw 135 vs m3.

Im all for engine conversions for those who can do it, but the sr is going backwards. Apart from v8, i would say 20b or rb26 and dont bother with anything else really.

If youre that keen on weight reduction, check the tech section.
