WA Spring\New Freeway\Highway Cruise

Well after being a long time zed member and being one of the original crew who started a large zed movement here in WA, being told its a "Z" only cruise, its your cruise thats up to you, but remember when you sell your zed and want to rock up to cruises such as these and being told along the lines of "go away" because you dont have a zed anymore, fine I wont bother, yes dont have a zed anymore but i rock up to say hello because of the PEOPLE not the car, being social n what not...

Ross (Jinxed) is doing good things to keep the cruise scene alive but im not sure if it'll ever be the same again, ahh the good ol days heheheh, countless cruises, social events, completely organising Autosalon and putting Aus300zx's name in the good books with many clubs and being noticed and respected, mingling with other perth car clubs around perth, the list goes on. Was planning on saying hello for many times to come, but if this is the attitude from now on then fine wont bother.....

Does anyone care, probably not

 

cool cool, so just to finalise, no bbq, zeds or zed associates only, so long as you have daves express permission, by pm to attend. josh, scottie and the freakin plane already have permission.........

thanks for the kind words miksta, beleive me i will keep the cruise scene over here alive single handedly if i have too....but why should i hog i all to myself, its the zedders that make the community not me or any other single person or car
i personally think we have gone in leaps and bounds from where we were a few years back, greater variety of cars, lots of new members, lots of excellent quality cars........the only problems we seem to be having is that some older members are feeling alienated once they sell thier z or move on, which is not right.....im not saying EVERY past owner gets a automatic invite to every cruise regardless of what they drive, but there is nothing wrong with coming and saying hi every now and then, and tagging along even so long as its not to the detriment of the others in the z group.........

wow - just logged on this afternoon and reading through the thread its disappointing to see the point we've reached.
i've not been on a zed cruise for over a year now with mine being off the road, so many of the WA members i see posting i'm admittedly not familiar with but i do wonder how well some will bode in future with their attitude.
when i originally joined up, what i loved about it so much was the fact that you had a bunch of people, in the same place, at the same time all excited about a common element. it didn't matter if you owned one, previously owned one or were looking to purchase one - we all had something to talk about while a lot of our partners stood in the background counting down till the cruise was over.

i hope to be present at this cruise in a zed, look forward to meeting some of the new members and grabbing a cruise map off Vader. I also look forward to catching up with Ross, Mickey, Josh, Simmo, Evan, Rob etc and couldn't care as to whether or not they are in a zed. they've still got their heart in it and funnily enough, to some of the newer members on here i'm sure they'd be more than happy to share experiences and tips after they've owned one.

if we're going to start excluding people without zeds, can we also start excluding all the zeds that rock up in shit condition that were brought for next to nothing and have owners who would rather upgrade the rims than do the proper maintenance to give these cars the credibility they deserve -how many can put their hand up as an owner of one of them?

Anyways, enough of the 'us' and 'them' mentality - here's hoping for a great cruise with little trouble and incident free.

Funny thing is, it was an attack directed to those who no longer own zeds, lets get the facts straight. I also look forward to catching up with such people as yourself amongst many others but when u hear comments like that makes me wonder if the forum has dipped to an all time low. Because people have retaliated, and for good reason, suddenly "anyone" can rock up, it shouldn't have to come down to this....

Being the relative "noob" on here, I have little to no idea who has, will have, or used to have, a zed.

And because I did not know there are a number of people that used to have one that still want to come along (well I did know Josh and umm other guy - name escapes me; sorry), I didn't even bother to say "if you used to have one, or are about to buy one, please come along".

Obviously that was a gross mistake on my behalf as there ARE people on here that want to keep up with the social aspect of the forum. I get that and it's cool.

Put yourself in my shoes for a minute. What should I have said? (That was a retorical question - let's not post even more non-cruise related crap; me included)

So, that means this: if you have been a member of this forum for a while, and want to meet other members, regardless of your current zed ownership status (what a bloody mouthful that is!), please come along.

Done. Lets all move on and all of us think before we post. We are supposed to be adults after all.
