What is the best thing to do to upgrade the air intake on the N/A 300.

Best to get some decent panel filters and just replace the factory ones, or will i benefit on getting one or maybe two pod filters and bolting up a bracket to the sensor?

I know the air sensors on these are really fragile and sensitive.

Whats the best way to upgrade the intake?

I'm also going to bore and polish the plenum and throttle bodys.

does anyone have some pictures of different setup concepts?

    thanks

    1 pod is enough.

Just bracket it to the sensor? It won't confuse the computer will it?

Nope its how they're all done just stright to the sensor with the bracket in between. I also have some K&N high flow panel filters for my stock airbox which I used for a few months and once I cut the sides of the stock airbox out it flowed as good as my pod. Have you looked at the tech article?

2 pod filters will not be of any use on an n/a,thats only for high h/p
1 apexi pod filter and piss off the normal intakes and replace with metal intakes for a smoother flow
also piss off all the extra intake plastics, but make sure you block off the hole where it does a u shape bend back on each side
Then upgrade your exhaust system to some nice cats,2.5 inch mandrel bend pipes and add some headers if you want more flow

plenum and throttle bodys ,badxtc is the guru on that

Get yourself one of these 3A Racing pod filter
I did a product review on them. So get a $30 pod filter, a $20 adaptor plate and about 15mins of your time and you'll have an easy breathing Zed for peanuts :)

Next mod will be a cat back exhaust (if you haven't already got one) and you're NA won't know itself from all that air that it's passing :zlove:

Ok, thanks, Is there an aftermarket intake hose kit available or do i have to go get one made up?

I'd love a mandrel bent exhaust but unfortunately I'll have to settle for a press bent unless i travel to Melbourne to get it. There isn't anyone in Tassie that does it. (THAT I KNOW OF OR ANYONE I'VE BEEN TO KNOWS OF) lol

I got my NA intake kit of ebay but the hoses that come with it are crap so get those of CAZ. I'll show you a pic if you like. :)

Just ebay, I just ran a search for 300zx intake and got 200 results. Remember tho all of them seem to have shit quality hoses and the stock ones wont reach.

The kit I bought wasn't one of the crap $18 ones cost a bit more but is decent and came with a nice pod. I think the company I bought it from was EAutotuning.

    hard pipes on an N/A...
    Bling factor = pretty.
    Performance factor = no difference.

Just putting it out there in case you're looking at these as an intake 'performance mod' instead of engine bay 'visual factor' :cool2:
