Check out my speaker install. I also did my leatherette doors again, because I wasn't happy with the quality last time. Speaker pods were from Peter. And I used Cadence speakers, because they have a Z in the centre...:zlove: I also made a new technique to cut the interior leather around the grooves in the door. I use the paddlepop sticks and run a stanley knife carefully along the outside of it being carefull not to cut anything else. Worked really well for me. See photos... Sorry for the poor quality
looks good, but maybe resize the pics to make them smaller, the large pics don't have detail so there isn't much advantage. Also is the camera normally that bad? the pics look like that off my phone cam when the lens is really dirty
What a coincadence, it is taken by a phone with a dirty lense. Also under poor light. I'll try and take some tomorrow in the daylight.
Nice work... Looks like a good method there with the paddle pop sticks... How did you go with the sharp corners? Did you use a heat gun? I found them to be hard because of the creases...you really have to spend time on it...but the heat gun didn't help that much for me... Cheers Rob.
Hey, I had a hair dryer ready but never used it. I think it probably depends on the material. I was using leatherette bought from MaxFromAus last year, and it worked really well. I'll take some close ups later, but it's pretty much perfect. The key is patience, get it in the right spot, use good glue and don't cut it for a good half hour or so after it's stuck on.
your setup makes me cant wait to get my rockford splits so i can put them into the nice doorpods. definitely looks better than the old rusty grill
do those cadence splits add much to the sound at the front? I'm still looking to get some components for the front...because in the back there's already a subwoofer and there practically no sound coming from the dodgey speakers at the front. In fact all the speakers are so dodgey they're all missing their foam surrounds....all floating cones.
