    Hi guys,

I know im going to get shot for this. But I tried spark plugs that arent pfr6b-11b's.
After a long line of issues I've got my car running again.

My question is, could the wrong plug cause a fairly high amount of hesitation, almost resembling a bad MAF?
Or is it like plugs PLUS another issue?

    What plugs did you fit?

Some crap recommended through Auto store. Like a BCP6ES11 (Pretty sure  )
Im pretty sure they were z31 plugs because the guy was a retard. They dont stock 11b's and I was too keen to get them then and there so i thought, surely it cant be that bad. How wrong I was(I think)

I was told that the plugs for TT heads had to have that longer sleeve to protect the extra protrusion into the combustion area.

The NoTurbo doesn't need that, but Turbo does.

PS: you were too keen. Did you try a different autoparts shop?
Google the spark plugs for Z32TT versus Z32NA
    the pictures show the difference.

Well you got coppers instead of platinum, but that's no issue. Gap and heat range is the same. The -11b have a special firing electrode as opposed to standard firing electrode.

All the auto stores where I live have to order them in.

So having the shorter thread length wouldnt cause much of an issue?
Ive heard really bad cases of people having plugs without the extra protrusion.

Could it be causing much hesitation being a bit out of the OEM specified detonation area?
Or am I looking at something else.
Just brainstorming before the morning so I have a list to go through before uni.

And I need to add, all hesitation is only coming onto boost.

I'd be surprised if it did man -the NGK iridiums don't have that tip and people tend to swear by them.

Are you sure the heat range is 6?

You may just need to re-gap them. If you want to try some genuines they're $80 posted from czp to australia, much better price than I found locally and czp actually know what they're talking about

Hmm okay Ill re-gap them and see how that goes.
Theyre heat range 6 for sure :)

Ive just fixed all vac leaks, new MAF, just overhauled timing(belt, CAS and TPS), air filter cleaned, fuel filter has less than 5000km's on it, no fuel leaks, IACV + regulator thoroughly cleaned, temp sensor I just rewired with new plug, am now running wastegate pressure waiting to get a new boost controller.
What else could be causing hesitation on a high level?

    LOL, I'm joking :D

Well they should be gapped 1.1mm out of the box just like the Platinum. What boost are you running?

    AHAHAHAHAHA nice QLD

Yeah I know thats what i thought, better to check though.
Just wastegate until I grab an EBC

The spark plugs you bought do not have a resistor. Should be BCPR6ES.

Speaking from experience, non resistor spark plugs can do strange things to the electrical components in our cars.

CHANGE: Sorry blokes, wrong info, just checked. The plugs are BCPR6E-11
So now I have a little more faith in the auto shop. Same reach, resistor plugs.
Off I hunt for other cuases. Sorry for the pain. Thanks for the help. <3

I was told that the spark plug on the right is for the TT head. That is the 11b version.

Possibly it has a restrictor set too stop higher boost and when kicking it in the guts the restrictor is causing the hesitation.

Hesitation comes on with any boost or even high throttle! :(
So what else would be causing misfiring, maybe every half a second, just lightly. And a killer hesitation with high throttle. Im thinking fuel related.

I have no codes as of right now.

Should I be opening a new thread?
Ive looked through maybe 20 hesitation posts and nothing that is helps, none of the fixes have helped.

A dodgy connector wire or spark plug wire or a bad ecu tune or damaged ecu,,, best wait till you have the ecu error code readout.
