:rolleyes2: I only play the sound when cleaning Z or other cars Love heavy shed shaking sound :br:
This will rattle your shed in to the pieces http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kicker-L...463207?hash=item25cad0ac67:g:8joAAOSwgQ9VnH31 Unfortunately you can't fit it in to the car as is too big, but you can keep it in your shed... will do the same... I have one of those but 15" version and it "makes breathing a hard task" when installed in the car (in descent enclosure "such as the one from link above" and running really loud). http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KICKER-1...751267?hash=item28259d33e3:g:5UAAAMXQfAxSC06-
If you want low end bass, you need a speaker designed for the purpose. The size of the box it is housed in is a very important consideration. I use a Boston G5 10" 450W RMS sub in a sealed .5 cubic foot (14.2 litre) enclosure. To run the same sub in a ported enclosure would require a 1.3 cubic foot or 36.8 litre box. You can see there is a considerable difference in size between the two types of enclosures. It's not the size of the speaker that's important, it's the quality. As an example, check out the sound quality of those small Bose units, it's amazing so much high quality sound can come out of such small speakers. Buy cheap speakers & you can expect cheap sound reproduction. Expect to be chasing a few rattles in the vehicle when a decent sub is installed.
I love my Home entertainment Bose surround units they are pretty loud for it's size, but yeah to generate some bass you need to move "volume of air" which is a bit hard with such small radius. There is a lot of difference in sound output from ported and sealed boxes. In general you will get more volume and resonance from ported box, as well you don't need to run as powerful amps to generate enough power to run the same output from the sealed box. On the other head you don't need much space to run the same speaker in sealed box.... But sheer brutality of the vibrating force is missing there It's probably best for you to go to the some specialty sound shop for them to demonstrate the sound quality of different speakers/boxes before purchasing. Lot of them will try to sell you custom enclosures but those can get expensive.
:thumbup:Thank you for all the feed back  Now I don't know what I want lol, some nice sound hot up bits you have just give me to think about :agree: Cheers Peter RTE38 :br::zlove:
:agree: Love the colour of this to go with my Z http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EDGE-EDB...ER-INTEGRATED-AMP-KIT-BASS-PACK-/281245158457 But don't know if there any good ? :help:
I personally prefer the passive over the active subs, it means you can marry up a decent amp like pioneer or alpine instead of being stuck with whatever they provide I like to get a package thats capable of 20 hertz or as close as possible, once you get down that low the bass is really punching you in the chest
You also need more speakers to actually fill out the range properly when you go ported as that volume boost only works around the tuned frequency, limiting the range. Works very well when you use a wider variety of cones though, running ported box 12" and 8" then some 4" or 6" woofers and some tweeters comes out way better than just some 6"s, tweeters and big booming 12"s. There's definitely big gap in performance between what you find at JB-HIFI and the real quality stuff though.
It looks like one of those "pimp my ride" cars, but they only loaned them the subs. I know the advert states all mod plated, but that just refers to the Lexus quad cam V8. How is obstructed rear window passed?
:agree: Yes thanks I did see that about week back bit of over kill but you can never have too much of a good thing.:zlove: Thanks for posting :rolleyes2::br:
