I bought this beast off ebay just now http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/16090739...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_881wt_1188 i'm just wondering how do you transfer ownership of a non registration car. and anyone in melbourne that may be able to tow it home for me looking forward to joining in on the fun soon
Looks like she will clean up nice mate... What's the colour though? Looks red from the front, the turns orange? Lol put the spoiler back on, looks like the guy was halfway through pulling it off... IMO zeds looks better with the boot lip style spoiler, looks bald without it lmao Where is it located vs you? Ring up a flat bed?
Its a red one! looks ok - nice colour! transfer should be done with registration papers ideally (old one is fine) these steps will get you through safely 1. Do a check with revs to make sure is not encumbered or on loan etc 2. get vin details on paper (check the vin against the car) and sign over with an independant witness ideally and with a date 3. both you (and the previous owner technically) should notify rego office asap as to transfer (thats why old papers help - there is a section he sends in to the rta) and old plates should be handed in (should have already been handed in) - it legally puts it into your name officially (instead of relying on the signed piece of paper) and prevents fines and loans being taken out against the vehicle in the wrong name. Do these above and you will have no trouble. Goodluck and congrats! ITS A RED ONE - they go faster than other colours!
its not to far, the flatbeds ive been looking at have a capacity for 1,200kg should that be a problem or not? problem is mums car couldnt handle this towing for sure maybe my mates F150 could do the job-Yes i believe its pure red, will post pics of course when i pick it up!
With transferring ownership of an unregistered car in VIC...you just need to get a signed paperwork from the owner stating his full name, address, licence number & signature...the paperwork should say that the seller has sold the car with kms at purchase, year, vin number to the buyer (you) with full name, address, licence number & signature. Then just get a rwc for the vehicle & get book it in at vicroads once you have a rwc & you can apply for rego. Welcome to zedding Abraham
Well done, looks a good car for the money! As long as it's got no major mechanical dramas, looks like you've got yourself a great deal.
this VicRoads actually have form that they perfer you use, just pick one up at one of their offices. NB: Rego IS NOT proof of ownership in any manor or form. Rego IS ONLY an agreement between a licenced peson and the state government to allow said vehicle to be used on public roads. :br:
Kingy, when i went to vicroads in regards to this when i got an unregistered car, that was what i was told. I asked if there was any form & i was told that since it is unregistered there isnt a form. Abraham
congrats.. if your game... drive it home.. get an unregistered permit bring parts for a basic service. (engine oil, filter and maybe plugs.) bring a 20L jerry can of petrol. use above materials. drive it home... if it fails on you.. then get it towed.. also ive towed a zed from mornington to dandenong with my maxima. didnt have a problem.. hired a trailer from united.
If you have no reciept or rego papers I think you have to sign a stat dec explaining how you got the car .
he should be ok as ebay prints you a receipt. but still get: his details off him (name addy licence number) details of the car (engine number, vin, km, sale date) add your details to the list on the bottom get him to sign it with a witness
As mentioned you need details to say you got it from the buyer with his signature. As Billy mentioned, you can get a unregistered permit & drive it to your place...only cost me $55 i think to have that permit for 2 weeks...so it should be quite cheap for you Abraham
