The last battery I bought was only used to start the car once and is now too dead to be resurected. It replaced one that had also been left flat for too long :( The rego ran out last month and I didnt bother renewing it because I know I wont have the time to drive her anytime soon:(:(

At least she is in a storage shed and not up the backyard left out in the open. In a few years when I have time Im hoping to turn it into a project car, till then she'll be collecting dust.

God damn it. I don't want to hear this!

Mine is going to be off the road for a few months while I rebuild her! Up till this point the longest I ever went without driving her since I bought her in early '08 was when I was in the US for two and a half weeks.

I feel antsy if I don't take her out for a spin every day or two. Which incidentally aside from going overseas was the longest I ever went without driving her :(

    I feel your pain.
I dont drive my Z any where near enough too.
My Battery has also died from being flat too many times & re-charged too much, too make it worse its a $300 optima because i thought if i got a really good battery there would be less chance of it failing (fairly sure its less than 1yr old too) tried everything to bring it back to life: slow charge, fast charge, agm charge.
Mine will stay rego'd so i can at least drive it, also stays in a shed.

Havent had a good drive of it since around november/december last year.

how long are we talking between drives? you should get a good ctek battery charger that supports extended charging so you pretty much leave it connected

I can absolutely relate to your woes! Haven't had a chance to drive mine since we started the engine pull. It's just 26 days but it feels like 27 years already. I miss the way she glances back at me everytime I snatch a look at the parking lot at work (as she's my everyday driver). Been dreaming of her every singe night!

Fark, this is so depressing! Not long to go now... :)

I havnt driven mine either for two months but i just buy those cheap second hand batteries
from battery world called seconds for $65 each and they last 2 years but completely diconnect it when not using it weekly because they have a small continous drain all the time standard

Not much point in getting a US 110V charger, but otherwise that is necessary if you leave the car for months at a time. I let the battery in the convertible go flat too many times so it would not hold charge any more.

Also, when you charge it after it has run flat, let it charge for 24 hours, not just long enough to get the car started.

A timely post. I finish work about an hour early, go to my car and start her up, BANG and a little puff of smoke near the passenger front cowl. Turn off real quick, open the bonnet and look around near the battery. I notice some water around the battery and think a hose has exploded or something then look a little closer, the top and sides of my battery has split, my bloody battery exploded!! and the water was battery fluid. Called the RAA $175 later and a new battery, I think the battery was only 4 years old and my car is a daily driver.:(

My zed was a daily driver and was hardly ever off the road, then in 2009 we sideswiped a cow and the car was off the road for a few months while it was repaired. Got her finally going again and the damn thing stops working after replacing the fuel filter a few months later. Took a couple of months to sort that out due to lack of time with the new baby and some forum advice miss-direction that had me strip the front of the engine  and the day I get the engine running again the damn clutch stops working and Ive not had the time to resolve the problem since.

I was supposed to have replaced the suspension by now but it hasnt happened cause of all the other problems. My UAS pivoting front camber arms are still sitting next to the car all nice and shiney awaiting installation :( Kinda glad I didnt get in on the header group buy as they wouldnt have been installed yet either.

i love my zed but every day i turn her over and shed a tear as i watch the mileage slowly rack up. at one stage i was doing nearly 60kms a day.

now work is only 3kms away so i love it all the more :)

----however it is hard only having one car and doing shit to it every weekend without taking it off the road-----
