Can someone please tell me is this the right way to put on slotted rotors,i got mine from caz and have put them on the other way
omg i thought the groove flowed backwards as it goes forward,i think the boxes were marked wrong,i took it that left was when you were sitting in the car
That's what I thought but it's not the case. I asked the same question a few weeks ago on TT.net and apparently the way it's fitted in the picture is the correct way for some brand of rotors. What is more important is the direction of the veins (or whatever they are called) which run inside the rotor. those veins need to such air in for cooling.
well every other car i have seen with slotted rotors are the opposite to the above picture, the gasses/crap gets thrown to the outside of the rotor, not inside as in the above. I have no idea..
???????? thats why i put them on the other way,i thought this way would be like a cheese grater on the pads
i just researched for you. apparently its NOTHING to do with the slots, its the angle of the veins INSIDE the rotor which dictates the rotors orientation. google it for yourself...
dont know if it matters i did a search and a few of the brake sites, seem to say unless you are racing ,it doesnt really matter which way u have them for street use
I have rda rotors, not from caz! They were marked left and right, also rda supplied install directions! My rotors are on the opposite way to hot300zx.
r33k's rotors are on the same way as mine, hot300zx has them on the same way, in the pic of passenger rear side, but the front rotor is opposite way round to his rear rotor.
the rotors i have > dont have any kind of direction in the venting in the middle so that would mean it wouldnt matter which way i installed them?? for the slots does one way work beta than the other??
2 different pix the first pic when i was asking is not my car,it has drilled rotor's,this is mine <<<front of car
If the pistons in your calipers are operating correctly, then it will not make the slightest difference to the pads, which way the slots rotate. They are going to travel across the surface of the pad regardless.
