For those of you who have read my other exceedingly long post, I have fixed the detonation (reset ECU, went for a spirited drive, and ecu check again).

Unfortunately I still have a rough Idle and it only boosts to .51 bar.
It seems to misfire a bit (I'm guessing misfire as I can hear relatively quite popping sound from the exaust). Also Driving around at low revs in a low gear (1st or 2nd below 2k revs and holding a speed) it seems to jump a bit.

Would I be correct in checking the spark plugs as they could be fouled? And would a boost leak cause this?

Other than that I'm completely lost. Please help.

    Thanks

    have you checked your afm??

when i bought my car it was stuffed and sort of sounded like what you are describing, all i done was went to the toy shop in newcastle and asked could i bolt on one they had for sale and if it worked fine i would buy it,they said yes i fitted it went for a cruise and all was fine then bought it and have been happy ever since :) worth a try,and will only take 30 mins of your time.

I would be leaning towards the boost leak.

    Thanks

The AFM has been replaced about 8months ago (note the car has been off the road for 6 of that 8 months).

Time to start looking for a boost leak.... yay for me!

Thanks to the both of you.

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

if there was a boost leak, wouldn't that increase boost? >>

    .. or am I arse-about?

Cause I have a leaky bleed pipe coming from my wastegate and I can't keep my boost BELOW 15psi.

DinoZ Talks sh#t for a living.

I had a cylinder dropping out last night -

and it was the connector plug on the injector.

Rubber boot deteriorated and green crap all over the terminal pins.

Worth checking if you haven't already done so.

    Cheers, Dean

    re Short Question...

Try checking wiring attachment plug to AFM. If slightly loose (sometimes wire clip is loose or missing and plug works loose), similar probs occur....try taping firmly to AFM body.;)

Here is a quick boost leak 101.......>>

A leak between the MAF and the turbo will cause the car to run lean as it will be getting more air then the ECU sees going through the MAF.

A leak between the turbos and the cylinders will cause the car to run rich becuse air that has been metered Measured by ECU) is escaping. Depending on the size of the leak it can restrict your boost as part of the air your turbos are pumping is just venting to atmosphere. The bigger the hole, the more air gets vented and the smaller the number you will see on the gauge.

Your problem is slightly different becuse your leak is in a ver specific area. In effect your leak is acting as a "bleed valve would. Unfortunately it is only on one turbo.
