Interesting that if you want to go to 100 octane fuel, you get stuck with a 5% Ethanol blend (still).

i think the main problem with running ethanol is that the old style injectors cant take it and pack up and die. it may be fine 2 run with newer 94+ zeds and ones that have had a injector upgrade. also your not really gonna get any gains from the fuel without having a proper tune

    Egg ....

    Why not?

Make a switch to cut power to the injectors when not in use?
Would be a good anti theft device too. :D and should make ethanol mix's ok.

Don't freak out too much about running ethanol fuels in pre '94 Zeds. The main issue is there is still 12V running to them even with the key off which is causing corosion by electrolisis. The constant grounding to open and close the injectors interupts this process. As long as you are going to run the tank out within a day, no problems at all, just use it like adding octane booster now and then :)

Also the newer style popett injectors will not solve the problem of using ethanol fuels. Most early fuel injectors were a pintel style until manufacturers discovered they had a tendancy to build up a deposit around the discharge which affected the spray pattern. The solution lies in the newer wiring harness which cuts the power to the injectors when the ignition is turned off.
