riight well i got oil pissing out of the rear main. well im assuming thats where it is seein as i cant get under it but its running along the bottom of the auto tranny and drops of it are hanging of the bottom of the engine... i know this is bad and i dont really have the money or tech to pull the gearbox atm, ive just bought me new TT engine it has always had a drip now and again but neva as bad as over the last few days. how long am i goin to be able to run the car before i start causing damage? or is this where people would recommend i buy a sh*tbox car and start me zed rebuild ive been planning? feedback appreciated any1, cheers, Jadyn
managed a closer look and it definatly a rear main... leak is pretty bad and it running back down the zaust and dripping off of the shield before the diff when the car is parked flat. looks tike there may be a motor an box for sale in the very near future (need a crying icon)
It probably looks like more than it really is. You need to keep an eye on the oil level (using the dipstick). If the level there is sufficient then it is unlikely to cause any problems to your actual engine. If you've got an auto then you don't need to worry about the oil getting onto your clutch. ive wiped the oil off a few times but it seems that its a pretty steady leak and it apears to be getting worse i spoze on the upper hand i now have an excuse to start on the project, thought i dont know how im goin to go not driving my zed for 8 months or so
