Service for the new Z, in Perth??

hey guys,
i baught my Z on friday, only done 131,000 which i think is pretty low for an '89 model.
I dont know how long ago it had been serviced so would like to get that done, so atleast i know everything has been looked at.

Where do you guys in perth get ur servicing done? and whats the approx cost.?

 

Mine had 134k when i got it...
What kind of service were you thinking? Has it had the 100k done? do you have any service paper trail?

 

Perth Z performance, I doubt the kms are legit. Search would have revealed all this.

 

Would like a major service done, or a minor if my pockets are bit empty.

why do you say that

 

About the kms? you know why and even with the aus spec models I'd be suspicious.

It is possible they are correct, mines a 1990 and apparently done 103.000kms but I don't believe it, better to get the full service imo.

 

because the vast majority of imported zeds have had the k's wound back...

 

meh well mine is imprt not aus-spec, so i dont know.

If you budget 2-3k for the first major service you should be alright. If there are some problems then you might be up for more.

Weigh it up. If you're not going to have the dosh in the near future to do a major service, then think about a minor service (Oil flush, coolant flush, fuel filter, look for corroded visible hoses, corroded electrical connectors). If you do a major service first it would be wise to include the above in the estimate.

Another minor service thing you can do is to get your onboard diagnostics checked. This can either be done via device (quite a few mechanics carry these, it's called a nissan consult connector), a laptop loaded with the correct software or via your hands and eyes using a screwdriver and a trim pot on the ECU in the passenger side kick panel.

If you have an auto you can check that too via the on-board computer.

nah she runs pretty well apart from vibration in steering wheel 110Kph +
and a lil whinny noise, not sure whether thats normal or not coz i havent heard a zx with an exhaust quiet enough to hear from the engine bay

 

maybe check your power steering system or it could be as simple as getting your tyres re-balanced.

hey mate, yer would like a service, just found out it did have its 100k service by Nissan. so proibably a minor service would be good. How much am i looking at?
