Here's a link for the Mt Tambourine Brewery and yes they serve great pub food in their beer garden and lots of different micro-brew beers to try and if you like you can usually buy anything on tap by the case :D

I'll post the route in a sec, though I've never done this cruise before so feel free to correct me if it's wrong

Good to see some regulars will be going in! I'll post a full route when I get home, the shared network at work doesn't seem to like GMaps.

this is an open Collaboration map so If you're a senior member and would like to edit the route please feel free to do so, this was just a guide to the route we will take up into Mount Tambourine. looks to be about 60km in total

I'm out.. Clutch is starting to slip up high in the revs, so don't really want to risk another trip home from tambo in a towtruck.

I'm still keen to go, should be good to see this many 300's in one place

A further distance is probably better with big cruises, 60kms isn't gonna take long. ;)

60kms? WTH? That's not a cruise, may as well change it to a 'meet up for lunch' :p

Don't worry after lunch first one to Tweed Heads wins. :p[TIS]:br:

That sounds more like it... would prefer it before lunch though so I can head off when I've had enough. Can't please everyone though so it's cool :)

Well I am officially out due to several suppliers not having the parts I need in time. I was hoping to have the zed on the road last week, that way I could give it a decent shake down before the cruise. However depending on the start time from Jacobs Well I might get up and away for some aerial shots on the day - ill follow you all up Tambo as much as I can - weather pending. :D

Now does anyone have a decent camera with a good zoom I can borrow? Cam???;)

Ok well giving people the ability to edit the map was a great idea! after someone deleted the entire mapped route I've decided to relinquished everyone's access to edit the map if you what to change something you're going to have to ask!

I've added the second leg to the cruise, that's right there's more!!! The cruise will go on after a good feed and a few beers in Mt Tambo.

McLovin read the thread; meet starts at 10am coomera BP! I posted that weeks ago....

sorry I only gmapped the first leg of the cruise (70km)... post lunch i was hopping all we could head to the spit as there's plenty of room out there for some quality group photos

here's your google map for stage 2 (55km) of the cruise....

p.s my clutch is on the way out too... just hold off on spirited driving and you'll get another 1000km before it lets go. I've been suffering from a slipping clutch since last Thursday after a late night wet weather drift season

p.p.s people are welcome to join either stage of cruise if they don't have a whole day to spare

Drokk holding off on spirited driving in his beast? I highly doubt that!!! You gotta know the car to understand though ;)

So 125km all up. I'll drive further getting to and from the meet point :p It's a far cry from the 400-500kms I'm used to doing on Sundays.

That's OK, better for the mass newbie invasion!

I don't know the gold coast that well so I don't wanna change the map cos I have no idea where we are going...... but tips for creating a route

    1. Stay off the main roads (is there a back way to go instead of going up the M1). Same with going up Mt Tamborine.... I'm assuming this is the main road up - how about looking at going around the back and coming up Canungra Gorge :p

    2. Make the cruise primarily before lunch then people can either cruise back together or depart early without missing half the fun. Remember people are coming who don't live on the Gold Coast. Making a cruise after lunch means it will finish at 3pm and people then still have an hour and a half to travel home.

    3. Meet time normally between 9:30-10:30

    4. Cruise length normally between 100-150km before lunch so you get to lunch at about 12:30. Correct me if I'm wrong but whilst google suggests an hour and half for the route so far I didn't think it would take that long to travel 60km???

Great to see some new people coming along - hopefully I will be there.

Thanks for the advice, I'll see what I try and add more length into the first part of the cruise, but for all those heading south after lunch it would be great for everyone to stick together and head out to the spit,

Alternatively we could just head up to tambo have a quick pit stop and then all head out to the spit for lunch?
