I have a 2+0 NA black 300zx. Veilside kit that came with it from previous owner.

Cost me $9000. Lemon. Basically, my heater core broke and engine overheated. Now the car still drives and sounds fine, but has lost a fair bit of power though.

Coming up to my opens next month and trying to work out whats the better option. I don't want to go spending more then $10k for a TT. Do I get a half cut put in and fix up some minor other things?

or do I sell it and buy one? Keeping in mind a stuffed engine wont sell for much anyway...

The body is in good nick, apart from damage to the front kit from previous owner. Black, targa top.

heating core going isn't exactly a lemon, it's common.

hows the rest of the car? any good? or is it a beater that needs attention everywhere?

if it's a beater, dump it and buy another. if it's got a decent interior, straight body and few issues, swap a TT motor in.

Sooooo you overheating it is the cars fault? anyway not worth much with a dead motor, if you wanna cut your losses sell it as is if you can, if you don't wanna sell then do a TT swap. Other option would be to buy an NA motor and sell it on.

New engine IMO. You could probably find one for $500-700, even for a TT motor.

Well body is pretty good (want to remove that massive veilside wing...). The interior is standard, and not to bad. The door locks are rooted, but I already have a central locking kit which isn't a problem.

The wiper control compartment fell off. and have managed to glue it back on... needs to be replaced though eventually and my D/Side seatbelt has locked into place, but again not hard to replace.

How much would you sell a car like that for though? Less then $3k? Bit more?

And the over heating was my fault I know that. There were a ton of issues that Eric fixed up with it that have been on-going, hence making it a lemon.

And it's not completely dead. Still starts up fine, drives. Just its not as powerful.

if it runs someone will probably come along and pay you market value or close enough tor it. with current P plater rules there's no shortage of buyers. most woudln't know how powerful it should/shouldn't feel. what market value is at the moment for a NA i have no idea but i suspect it's pretty low.

Would $3k - $3.5k be too much to sell it with a shitty engine. Like, it just drives like a 4 cylinder I guess. (Just trying to weigh up costs of just getting a TT cut or selling and paying the difference, what is cheaper)

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Depending on your patience, space and knowledge of your Zed, you could consider parting it out? You'll get more for it that way.

The failure to acknowledge an overheating engine can take down the most pristinely looked after examples and lemons all the same... You'll go broke if you buy a TT if you think repairing an NA is expensive! lol Talk about a false economy... Here's a thought, how about find out what's wrong with it first?

I must admit where one reads "fell off" and "glue" in the same sentence, it a cause for concern about the rest of the vehicle! lol
