Seat belt Not returning

    Hello,

    I bought my 89' ZX z32 last Friday and after a few days the seat belts stopped returning both door sides,
    Could someone please tell me of a way to fix this or whats the best thing to do?

    Help will be greatly appreciated

    Cleaning the belt and adjusting the spring tensioner usually fixes it.

    Check the angle of the retraction mechanism on the doors, if they are not at the correct angle or sometimes if the car is on a steep slope they wont retract.

    Also dont forget that there was a teflon piece of tape that was later issued for all 300ZX's by nissan that goes onto the belt holder at the top that allows it to slide through easier.

    It wont have stopped your belt from stopping all of a sudden, that will be tension or incorrect position, but it will help it retract in future with the other adjustments/ checks.
