This SAW sounds a good thing, it would be interesting to see one on an auto circuit car. I don't go along with big engine braking when racing, thats an out of date concept from back in the days when brakes were crap. Its OK if the engine revs are kept down, high revs resulting from premature down shifting will cause excessive engine wear, particularly to big end bearings.
