Has anybody ever encountered safe boost even when no error code is given?? Any ideas on what to look for??

    Cheers

1st things 1st...there have been a bazillion posts on this... i know...I seem to have asked a few of em... <search> top of the screen...yeild wonders to behold and mysteries to unravel.

But the answer is yessa you can.

Public enemy #1 for this is engine temp sensor, the zed runs in safety boost when the engine temp is below 65, so if it's sending a bad signal ie dirty contacts, which after 15 odd years they gotta get dirty, so clean em....pop the hood, in front of the fan there will be a silver pipe with to sensors in it. Sensor on the left will be the temp sensor...unclip it, get the contact cleaner and scrub it out, do a quick check of the plug and wiring etc of the sensor while it's off.

The sensor itself may have shat itself, so if cleaning dosn't help grab a clean looking one from a wrecker, or a new one and aftermarket guage...better option IMHO.

Welcome BTW...good to have ya on board

try reading this article. i think i might be on safety boost aswell. getting 100,000k done soon, also will be purchasing new temp sensor , new spark plugs, new fuel filter (might be detonating, not sure... still all new to this). if the above does not work i'll try a new det sensor.

Come to tech day Sat 25th (See Coming Events), we'll isolate

    the cause for you.

I have a spare boost guage we can strap onto your car in less than a minute to check what boost you are actually running + we have several conzults/datascans which will talk to your ECU and usually find out the cause of safety boost (if so)

In the interim, here is an article for how to know when you are in safety boost while driving.

Note this doesn't tell you WHY you are in safety boost, just whether you are or not for sure.

Why would you be worried about safety boost, when your profile says you have an NA????
