    hello all,
    i have a lightly modded z and am considering an eprom for my next mod. its cheapish that i understand.
    so wat i want to know is;
    what are the implications of extending the rev limiter to say 8500rpm on stock boost. sounds a bit crazy buut there are plenty of ppl out there running 12psi on stock internals im sure. so what would the benefits be from a street drivers perspective be. im a honda boy from way back so i like to wait on before changing gears but not if its gonna cost me my engine.
    looking forward to your input

    Running 12psi boost on a stock zed will present no problems.......

    but revving it to 8500rpm will at best severely shorten the life of your motor, and at worst break [/COLOR=red] something. And all for no possible gain because horsepower on a stock zed peaks at about 6500rpm.

    I agree with Ian, with a relatively stock TT engine I run 14psi and

    there is nothing to be gained by revving the motor past 6700rpm as the power has well and truly plateaued.
    Will be different with after market turbos.

    The turbos have way run out of the efficent part of their envelope by 6500 revs. 8500 revs wouldnt acheive much.

    Pointless to push them= engine harder.

    ok kool, thanx for your input guys. probly still go with the eprom eventually but i will bear in mind the pointlessness of pushing the turbos.
