Glad you all had a good time! Wish I could have been there, 9 1/2 hours of work wasnt the best alternative :( At least I can put it towards the zed :)

Can't wai to see more pictures! Did anyone get some video footage?

Had a great day besides my few little issues

first my throttle got stuck just as i got to the melbourne meet point
after that was sorted off we went and she was fine but now I think i have a sticky lifter or 2 but will get that sorted soon

    hypedz drifter

    tapping is all sorted now

the oil i put in had the wrong label on it, it was thicker and was causing the lifters to stick

  8. Blipman

    Blipman Beer hooves totally work

    I was in the Supra

If you're going to be a traitor in a Toyota does it really matter which one? :) That was the sportiest thing I could get my hands on, and given the sweet roads I'm glad I didn't take the Celsior.

I didn't take a lot of photos at all, this is about it:

I'm really dissapointed i couldn't make it in the end, especially a cruise so close to home. Didn't get home from my cousin's bucks night till 6am Saturday, i made the effort to get up at 9:45, had a shower and got dressed then went to get in the car and realised there is no way i could drive (prob would have been over 05 too). Anyway looks like it was a great day and hope to get to the next one.

    Thanks Roy & Sue......

for putting on such a great day........great food, great company, great cars & twisties!!! :zlove: what more could you ask for!!! .......except maybe a few less four wheel drives & idiots who feel they have to abuse a bunch of Zed drivers for just minding their own business parked at the front of a servo!!!    .......don't ya just love it when they get so jealous!!!! :zlove: :zlove: :zlove:

Looks like you guys had a great day...pitty it was a 4hr drive for me :(

  15. red32

    red32 You talkin' to me?

Would just about have been worth the trip, Renee.

Melbourne was overcast and the weather didn't look too promising, but we persevered anyway. We set off from the Stamford after Ben remedied Jay's throttle problem, drove through a wannabe rain shower on the way to Yaragon and met up with Roy and Geoff/Anne. We had our first encounter with a Landcruiser there as these yobbo's drove past hangin' out the windows, yelling "Get a real car" and other such encouragement. Through Trafalgar to Willow Grove. "Eight cops live in the village, so I have to behave myself", says Geoff. On the way, I happened to look in the RV mirror to see where Fradda was, and noticed his front number plate hanging down, so we stopped and sorted that out, but lost contact with the main group. Up to this stage the road had been sweeping 90-100kph bends with some up and down, but once we got through Erica and Rawson, the REAL road began, lotsa nice tight curves and several 25-30kph hairpins. Fun! Somewhere along the way it became bright and sunny, but I couldn't tell you exactly when, such was the focus on driving. :D
You have to love the way country folk look after us city slickers safety, though. Firstly there was another Landcruiser ute (head of the queue in Geoffs second photo) doing a steady 80 in a 100 zone, then a red Landcruiser wagon, with no way to get past, then a green Camry (where did all these bloody Toyota's come from?) and finally, as we approached Walhalla, a Suzuki (Kamikaze) Sierra doing about 40kph (musta been nearly flat-out! :) ).
Walhalla itself is a pretty little village in a long valley deep in the tail-end of the Great Divide/Southern Alps (I think that's what they're called) near Mt Baw Baw. Originally a gold mining boom town of over 30,000, now a tourist spot with 800 residents, with camping and picnic facilities, tours of the old gold mine, and a tourist railroad along part of the old rail access into the area.
But the best part was the company and the barbecue. Roy and Sue catered and cooked for all 15(?) of us... heaps of dead animals, birds and plants done to perfection... all without any thought of recompense! How generous is that? Big THANKS to you guys!
And thanks also to Geoff(viper) for leading us poor lost city souls back to the main highway at Moe so we wouldn't be stuck there forever!
And the camera didn't come out of the glovebox all day!

i think you summed up the whole day well! i think the reason there were all these toyotas is because someone was drivin in a toyota with z's  so i guess the other toyotas thought it would be ok to come out and play with us too:eek:

was good seeing all the local kids getting excited about the z's waving and being all happy etc :D

  17. RedZedMikey

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

Again, thanks to Roy and Sue for the organisation and barbecue - 'twas great!!! Thanks also to Geoff for the escort service (should I rephrase that?)

A very scenic little spot, but quite busy on the day - couldn't get all the Zeds together at one spot in Walhalla for a group scenic shot. Lots of campers there hogging all the spots!

Elly enjoyed herself and slept most of the way home after a late game of keepy-off with the kids and some some not-so-young kids ... a lotta fun with a flattened can of Fanta!

Looking forward to doing it again, this was my Zed's 3rd trip to Walhalla.

ZeDHeD's NA on the road to Walhalla, with Hyped-Z's silver one below.

Ben-the-Traitor left the luxo barge pimpmobile at home, and enjoyed the twisties a bit more in this Supra

Street parking - no, this is not the Walhalla Z Shop!

Elly didn't go swimmimg, but did get her feet wet in the creek

Doug left his camera in the glovebox all day, but took it out on the way home ... good one Doug, I love it, thanks!!!!
