Hi all, I currently have 18x9 inch rims on the rear with 265/35 tyres, and 18x8 inch on the front with 245/40 tyres. I've noticed that some track cars etc usually have at least nine inch rims on the front, while still using a 245/40 tyre. How much advantage in terms of stability/handling etc is to be had by wider front rims? At the moment I'm in the position to buy some new rims for the front of my car since my brother damaged them while borrowing my car, and is going to pay for replacements. The 9 inch rims only cost about $40 more so I was thinking go 18x9 front and back, just have thiner tyres up front. What do you think?
    Cheers

Can't see a drama so far
just as long as your mate pays for it!

I've fitted NUMEROUS 8.5" wide wheels with plenty-o-room before,
just make sure your offset is cool, and the x factor is good!

    good luck!
