replacing S1 PTU

    what will i need to do when my S2 PTU arrives in order to plug it in and go?

    An adapter harness. Or hardwire/solder it in.

    get the adapter from caz1,much easier and more reliable as there is no user error if not soldering it correctly

    I got 2 x series 2 ptu plug and play as i couldnt be bothered soldering

    i checked out the site, i could only find the PTU pack for $449...
    i'll only need the brackets, or even only the adapter...

    ok i have the s2 ptu and the connectors i just need to know the wires to solder it up...

    do i just line them up and go for it or are they around different?

    ok i wired it up and it doesnt start. just turns over and the odd back fire... doesnt even try to start...???

    power wire from far side of old 7 plug to centre of new 7 plug and the rest of the wires are all the same right?

    If you soldered it up, rather than used the converter harness, remember that the Earth or Ground wire goes to the other side of the Series II PTU than the Series I PTU.

    If you assumed it was on the same side, you may have wired much of the PTU up in reverse i.e. with the ECU signal wires going to the PTU output connectors rather than the input connectors. See here: http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=264703

    Don't forget, the cylinder 1 wire in the loom is the same colour as the Earth wire (black/white). Don't mix these up.

    Hope you sort it out easily.

    If however you used the converter harness, then make sure all of the pins on the old plugs are squeeky clean and that all of the pins are well connected to the pins at each plug. Can't see how a converter harness could cause a problem any other way.

    cheers mate yeah i sorted it out while you wrote that! i had the earth on the right side but had everything upside down so cylinder 1 was plugged onto 6! runs beautifully now... is that a 200 model front bar i see? how much and where from?
