Hoping someone can help me. I have purchase some new H3C bulbs for my low beams but they are 100W. Can I use them without modifying the wiring? Any advice appreciated.

Was the bulb you purchased physically identical to the ones installed in your car?
Are you sure you bought H3C bulbs and not H3 bulbs?
Do you have an aus-spec or j-spec zed? (Aus specs only take H3 bulbs. From the factory j-specs take H3C bulbs, but is it possible that a previous owner did a wiring conversion.)

There is an article in the tech section here that shows how to convert your wiring to accept H3 bulbs, but this many not be what you're after.

Can you provide more information or pics of the bulbs?

    Dont !!!

The 100W lamps are too hot for the stock housing. I had a few assemblies that had 100W lamps in them and the reflectors had all the silver burnt off.

    Take em back.

For seven years I have been using 100W bulbs and haven't had a single problem.

I had 100W bulbs for many years, I pulled apart my head lights a couple of months ago to clean the projector lens and all was good inside.

They are meant to be 55W.

If you want them brighter, buy the HID kit
