Hey guys so basically on my new zed one of the driving lights is out. I managed to get the full light assembly out and pulled apart no problems but the bulb doesnt seem to wanna budge.
Is the bulb part of its surround, ie. do you have to purchase the light and the small gold surround for it? and if so does anyone know where to get one. It seems to have a wire attached. Its the main bulb not the parking light bulb in the same housing.

Dont kill me if its on here somewhere already i did search for it for some time.
Any help would b much appreciated.

heres a pic of the bulb i mean

The whole thing is the bulb, The actual glass bit and the metal housing are the bulb as well as the wire. Just slide the nylon tubing stuff (white material sock thing) down the wire, away from the bulb and you will see where the bulb spade connector is connected to the female end of the wire. It will be wrapped in a clear rubber dealie.
I replaced mine with 100W phillips rally. They were $7.50 each. They give off a whiteish-yellow light. So much brighter than the originals. Now they're brighter than my low beams which are still stock 55W until I can afford the higher wattage superwhite ones.

Thats alright. thats what a forum is for. Remember to clean the new bulbs with something that will get rid off your fingerprints like metho. I learnt that the hard way. heat spots are no good on bulbs... or disc rotors.

    BigCol That's what she said...

Stock is 35watt globes for the fog. I currently run 55watt in my foggies which is pretty much the maximum you should use. Keeping 100watters in there will melt the entire housing and possibly short / melt the wiring causing untold damage. Replace them asap.

hey mate, are the clearnence bulbs (ones on the side of the housing) the same as the foggies? i'm thinking about replacing them with white bulbs instead.

I didnt think about the 100W bulbs melting the housing. I drove 2 hours upto shepparton the other day with the foggies on and it doesnt seem to have melted anything but not sure if it will damage them over time.

Has anyone melted their foglight housings using 100W bulbs? I dont want to have to buy new housings. I'd rather buy new bulbs.

These are the lights that come on when you turn the light switch to the first click, before the low beams come on. They arent connected to the foglight circuit. They are separate.

    i agree

spot on big col,100 watt is way to hot and too bright,i think that will give dramas from our friends in blue also, better off investing in brighter hid headlight bulbs on the g/b

exactly. planning going HID and since these come on when the headlights are on, i'd like them to match up. possible to get white bulbs for them?

thanks for that. might look at swapping them back to the 55s on the weekend. didnt think of the affect of heat.

Yes. I bought Philips Blue vision for my low beams and they came with matching parking light globes.
