Some time ago there was an article about replacement engine mounts for a TT Zed.
I have looked for the alternate articles that Black Baz was putting together, but they seem to have disappeared.
There was some mention that (god forgive me) a particular model Holden/Commodore engine mount was the same & bolted straight in.
If you have any info in this regard please post here.
Otherwise please don't high jack this thread.
    Thanks
    Kerry

It was VL commodore and needed a 6mm spacer from memory. You should be able to do a search on this as it was discussed about 5 months ago (ish) :)

Try a 16mm Spacer! The bolt that the spacer goes over makes it too short so a new stud needs to be made and welded into the spacer, then the spacer welded to the mount, not a straight forward operation.

I made a set up for minivan a couple of months back and mine are still going strong. They are definitely a much heavier duty mount than OEM IMO, and a heck of a lot cheaper:)

Did you use SEARCH? Baz's thread HERE.

Baron used VL, someone else used Jaguar - was that Candu? OEM mounts approx $170 ea from Coz.

    Do a search on www.twinturbo.net.
There are some new designs worth looking at.
I also remember some guys over there using a Ford mount.
I think it may have been from a 1989 F150 6 cyl. But some research on that site will confirm the details.

I think at UAS they have had alot of success using heat wrapped noltec mounts

    If it works, it works....

browsing through their website I just noticed this UAS RACE VERSION ALSO AVAILABLE USING HARDER COMPOUND #85 DUROMETER HARDNESS
so maybe that is a better option?

What are you doing with your car method?

KEZA .. GIVE ME HALF AN HOUR and i will repost ..

.. the alternate thread did not contain all items as some PMd me direct ...

the list HAS been consolidated, reviewed and is ready to go .. other than me typing up 50 odd pages for the tech section ......

    back soon ... !!!!!

    EDIT: HERE WE GO ...

provided by CHILI ..: V12 JAGUAR mounts fit, but need a spacer to increase height ...

provided by BARON .: 6 cyclinder, VL COMMODORE MOUNTS .. these fit with a 6mm spacer of 50mm x 6mm flat bar, 50mm long (square) with a hole drilled in the middle ( underneath to level engine ) .. about 10% of OEM mounts ..

    Thanks Guys

But after much consideration & the thought of modifying bits & pieces, I've decided to get NEW MOUNTS from Coz/TTZ.:)
At less than half the price of OEM parts, you just couldn't go wrong.:D
Now comes the hard part, FITTING the buggers in situ, when they arrive & before my trip to Tassie in December.
Just not enough hours in the day unfortunately, so I'll have to do it at night.:D :D :D
Many thanks again for your input, it has helped.
    Cheers

They will eventually shrink like what those other guys have mentioned though. I wouldn't even want 0.5mm of shrinkage in them on such an important part there.

The options I have looked at are:

OEM - work well, last a long time, damper the best - cheap.

Solid - slightly more expensive - will be able to feel the engine through the whole car although on tt.net most people say that solid diff mounts and solid subframe bushes make it more noisy than what their solid engine mounts did. Some said you can't really tell the difference with solids, only slightly. Dowside is that the engine can't really move properly unless you buy one of the damper struts.

Urethane - not a proper material for that application with the heat around them.

I was using a roller once, I noticed that the absorbers around the roller looked exactly like engine mounts but bigger. I am going to try to source them from CAT and see if they have a size about the same height as the stock mounts (off a small roller or something). These will outlast all of the above, and probably absorb better than all of the above IMO. I can probably get them cheap as well.

The new design on tt.net look good, the ones that can move although not many people have tested them.

Not sure what I will do, either CAT ones if I can get them mounted somehow depending on the sizes available, or stock.. or new design. Maybe even solids lol, anything but urethane ones. I already have bought solid subframe bushes and will get solid diff ones soon.

Thanx for the reply. Yeah I am steering away from solids personally... will have to check out the new ones on TT.net that you mentioned.
